I have owned this mixer for two years and am completely glad with it. However, I could not understand its operation from looking at pictures before I bought it, so I want to portray it to potential buyers.

The tremendous stainless steel bowl has a 1/2" shaft protruding from the bottom with a slot reduce in it. This shaft fits into the power unit and the slot engages a pin which allows the power unit to rotate the bowl. The only powered function is this turning of the bowl.

The ample arm above the bowl is spring-loaded. The arm is permanently attached to a vertical pivot at the left rear of the power unit (glance the "creaming butter and sugar" represent I have uploaded) . There is a mountainous pin on the good side of the arm which you can pull up several inches. You first seat the bowl on the power unit, then pull up on the pin and swing the arm forward so the good demolish is over the bowl. Then you establish the fluted beater inside the bowl and let the gigantic pin fall into the destroy of the beater. The beater can flow freely on this pin.

The top of the beater has a rubber u-shaped groove which rides against the top edge of the bowl. The spring is constantly pulling the beater against this groove. As the bowl rotates, it causes the beater to turn. The bowl edge is like a "huge gear" turning the "cramped gear" of the beater. Thus the beater rotates distinguished faster than the bowl.

As you spy from the portray there is also a scraper that rides along the inside edge of the bowl. This scraper pivots freely but dough or batter pushes it against the side of the bowl. It can be lifted out of its benefit to win it out of the bowl.

The beauty of this map is that if a spacious amount of dough or batter gets between the beater and the bowl, the beater is simply pushed away from the bowl edge temporarily and stops, as the rubber groove loses contact with the rotating bowl. This prevents the beater from jamming and stalling, and the motor from overloading. The spring immediately pulls it abet after dough has passed slack it.

I consume this machine mostly for cakes and cookies, and one downside is that it does not work well when creaming chilly butter and sugar. The hard shortening pushes the beater away from the bowl and the mixing stops. You simply need to allow the shortening to approach to room temperature.

Since the inside rim of the bowl drives the beater, you need to avoid scraping a spatula across the edge of the bowl while mixing, since grease in this place might cause the beater to traipse. I also avoid cracking eggs on the edge of the bowl.

The only other caution I have is the weight of the stainless steel bowl. It is quite spacious and heavy, and there is no handle on the outside (unlike a KitchenAid) . It can be awkward to fill this heavy bowl as you are pouring or spooning out batter.

Highly recommended.

I'm prompted to write this after seeing another review that stated that this machine is only favorable for making bread but not for other mixing tasks. In fact, it will do everything any other stand mixer will do, and it will do most tasks better than other stand mixers. I expend it a couple of times a week to knead bread dough, at which it excels, but I've also made cakes, whipped egg whites, made cookies, and objective about anything else you can imagine.

The thing is, as you can recognize from the characterize of the machine, it is different from mixers most Americans are archaic to. There's a learning curve eager, so you must be prepared for that, or you'll be disappointed. I got the hang of it expeditiously, within a couple of weeks or so, but after a year I'm mild refining my knowledge.

I should point out that Cook's Illustrated magazine, in their November 2005 remark, gave this machine a unpleasant rating. I have to possess that they did not attempt to learn how to exercise it properly. I also have their top-rated mixer, the KitchenAid Professional 600, which I found very disappointing. It now sits in a basement closet after it stripped a gear.

If you originate bread, especially if you compose it frequently or in huge quantities, chances are you'll grow to cherish this machine. For a single loaf of bread now and then, any kindly stand mixer will do, and you'll probably be happier.

If you don't originate bread at all, a valid sturdy hand mixer such as the Braun M880 Multimix would be something to believe. If you accomplish bread, you can rest assured that the Electrolux will do that and anything else you need it to do.

The Electrolux Assistent Mixer excels in dough kneading but I employ it many more work hours for flaking and grinding grain, grinding meat and processing fruits and vegetables.

Our diet consists of whole grains, fruits, vegetables and grass fed meat product. I obtain all of our cereal, bread, crackers and other baked goods. I have a limited commercial stone grinder to grind grain but I consume the Electrolux DLX grain grinder for smaller jobs. I process all of our cereal with the Electrolux flaker. I grind our current meat with the meat grinder attachment. I puree vegetables for soup bases and beans for hummus with the berry press and blender attachments.

Despite hours of continuous utilize the Electrolux DLX never balks, never overheats and always has plenty of power to accumulate through whatever task it is performing.

I saw the Cook's Illustrated November 2005 article which gave the Electrolux DLX a dreadful rating and the KitchenAid Professional 600 the top rating. I wondered at the time whether those reviewers might have an undisclosed bias because some of their reviews for other products also have been unfamiliar. Granted I wouldn't consume the Electrolux DLX to acquire muffins or waffle batter but I wouldn't derive out a mountainous stand mixer to do those tasks either. When I do obtain do a spacious quantity of batter it performs superbly.

The KitchenAid Professional 600 I purchased bit the dust after kneading my whole grain dough for 3 minutes. It temporarily revived and then suffered a fatal incident 2 minutes later. I returned it and bought the Electrolux DLX and haven't looked aid.

There is a firmware update for the iPAQ rx1950/1955 that fixes the power on pickle when using an SD card. If you go to hp.com, acquire Software & Driver Downloads, then type in the product name and continue, then steal Windows Mobile 5.0, you'll seek a list of updates for the unit. Correct now there is an (OS) ROM update, and a firmware update. The firmware update is the one that fixes this spot, but if you are planning to load the OS/ROM update as well, load that one first, then load the Firmware update. You should always benefit up all your data before applying an update.

I also had a similar scrape when I didn't have the battery screen on and latched honest factual, but that's OK now too, as long as I don't tumble the thing on the ground.

Having read all of the reviews, etc I purchased a Palm TX - junk that was promptly returned (ogle review there) . Despite the reviews here I have had large success with pocket pc devices & this unit had everything I needed. After almost a month I will not section with this diagram! Initially I had to download and update the unit which was a painless experience. Outlook synch's flawlessly and unlike the TX mail set-up and exhaust is easy. WiFi works colossal and has better reception than the TX, connects faster and the connection is more superior. The TX "soft re-set" several times a day and took forever to salvage going again - the re-sets seemed to be more frequent when I stale the web browser. Not a pickle with the 1955. Not a single re-set. There is the wierd windows thing where you have to shut down running programs every so often(Start-Settings-System-Memory-Running Programs-Stop All) but you score old-fashioned to that elegant fast!

For business employ the memory is sufficient & the processer is stunning fleet. The Office functions work broad including running some glowing complex calculations in Excell. Again unlike the TX - which has documents to go.

Memory card deliver was apparently taken care of with the firmware upgrade as I haven't had aproblem with it & I exhaust it to store documents, pictures, etc.

I don't exhaust the media functions aside from viewing work photos so I can't exclaim to the complaints there.

For business users I have found it flawless, sleek, attention getting and very functional.

I have had this iPAQ rx 1955 for almost a year. I couldn't be more contented with it. I have been reading other reviews here on Amazon that say that the iPAQ shuts down and needs to be restarted. Well, that's because the owners do not know how to exhaust it. iPAQs are complex diminutive things and they have to be understood. If properly former, they are sheer delight.

As soon as I got my iPAQ a year ago, I bought "iPAQ for dummies", read it from beginning to raze and learnt a lot. I consume this iPAQ to send email, write notes, as a calendar, contact list, as a reminder, savor it when the iPAQ sounds its cute dread!) and I even write my store list on it. I saved money on an ipod; my iPAQ is worthy more than that! I got a 2.0 GB SD card and have stored no less than 200 music files, four graceful games and dozens of mammoth photos that I can now always have with me wherever I go. (This iPAQ can also store videos) .The iPAQ synchronization feature (with your computer) manages to compress and resize sizable files automatically. The music sound is incredible, the photos gaze colossal, the games are fun and easy to play. This minute cute iPAQ does so many things for me and offers me so many more that I am absolutely thrilled with it. A friend who has an ipod is considering giving it away and bag an iPAQ instead. When I am not taking my laptop with me, I am OK because I can check and send email via iPAQ.

It is fun to utilize the handwriting recognition features as well as the whine recognition feature; this, of course, with the added software for enlighten recognition. I no longer need to exhaust the stylus on my iPAQ to explore for an address or a name. I simply talk to it and "she" responds wonderfully well. The iPAQ also had to gain obsolete to my bad handwriting, but it certainly did. It was fun at first to examine the iPAQ trying to peer my "r" and my "v". But it was all fragment of the learning process for both.

I have also stored two e-books that I can read on the iPAQ anywhere I want.

I recenty got a pair of Bose headphones that go ample with the iPAQ. Now (with a tiny add-on) I am going to also turn it into my personal GPS. There is so remarkable this petite cute thing can do that I AM AMAZED.

I suggest the book (ipaq for dummies) be bought together with the iPAQ.There is too considerable this cutie can do and one might be lost without extra abet.

If you're impartial looking for a procedure to rip your vinyl to MP3's, there are great cheaper and easier ways to do it. Check out Audio Technica AT-LP2DUSB LP-to-Digital Recording System with USB, Ion iTTUSB Turntable with USB Picture or Numark TTUSB Turntable with USB for example.

This product is made for DJ's, and as a professional DJ turntable it is an noble product. The USB interface gives you a handy contrivance to rip your vinyl to your hard drive if you're tantalizing toward a digital DJ setup, but that feature is impartial icing on the cake. Its strong, variable torque makes it ideal for scratch DJ's or for posthaste startups. It's very solid and heavy which means fewer skips at live gigs. It has a built in BPM counter for beat matching. It can also be reconfigured for "battle-style" configurations. Pair it up with a worthy cartridge like the Shure M44-7H Scratch Cartridge with Headshell and you're proper to go. I've broken-down Technics SL-1200's professionally and I actually occupy these decks, and they are remarkable less expensive than the 1200's.

This is a solid, solid product (literally, it is really heavy) and for the sign gives you a mammoth value. I didn't choose it to DJ with, but rather as a recording design to transfer lp's and especially old-fashioned 78's to the computer.

One tag, despite what some websites say, this turntable, like other high waste units, does NOT reach with a cartridge. It uses a universal headshell, though, so getting a cartridge shouldn't be hard. Most high kill turntables reach without a cartridge, so this shouldn't be a surprise.

As far as the bundled software goes, the package with this isn't that large, but most of the bundled packages aren't great beyond basic recording. Audacity, which is a freeware product, is decent, but if you want to do really heavy duty recording it would be better to bewitch something like Nero. This product is sold as a pro turntable, so it isn't surprising that it doesn't arrive with spacious recording software, since pro's will already have software.

It can be finicky to adjust this, and the instructions are not necessarily that easy to follow. However, it isn't hard to situation this up, and even the balancing, which some people complain about, isn't hard, and once done it makes adjusting the weight on the cartridge a dash.

In playback, because the unit is so rugged, it doesn't skip when you scramble by it as cheaper turntables with and makes it a pleasure to work with. The other nice feature is that you can stunning tune the motor urge, which especially for older recordings that were recorded too high, makes it easy to play them serve as they were supposed to be. The unit has digitial metering for pitch, that makes this easy to do.

One notice, like many unusual turntables, this unit features a line out/phono setting on the rca output. The phono is supposed to be for using in units that don't have a phono input, to terminate you from having to have a phono pre amp. What I found, using this with a Bose wavesystem, is that the line out is the design to do it, the phono doesn't work, I suspect that is only needed on older units. Some people on other places have said they needed a pre amp, try unsing the line out if the phono doesn't work...

Overall, a top-notch unit, and a value for the money.

this is the best turntable you can seize. if you like technics or vestax. you will really treasure this turntalbe. it is the best you can consume. lots of torq and innerchable tone arms you can't beat it this table is highly recomended to any scratch or turntablist dj. also goes excellent with a pair of ortofon or shure m447s.

really rep this turntable you will not be sorry.

If you can't get that this speaker is nearly 4 feet titanic and bigger than your 8 year customary, seek somewhere else. There is nothing I can verbalize you about it that will overcome a size prejudice.

This thing is Vast with a capital 'H.' Once you've near to grips with that, you inaugurate to glance how astonishing these speakers are.

Do not let the name tag fool you. Yes, Cerwin Vega! touts themselves as a company that is all about the loud, and they are. But the dirty diminutive secret is that they sound wonderful too, and too many people dismiss that. Impartial because you have ridiculously loud potential doesn't mean you can't sound like garbage playing quietly.

Generally, the speakers ARE aesthetically enthralling. The metal mesh grill and the very unexcited waveguide, along with the trapezoidal footprint and black carpet do whine a very industrial impression, but it its smooth very super and minimalist for its size. Its inputs are 1/4", and it has safety fuses(light bulb style) built in. The upper woofer is actually a mid-woofer, and the lower is tuned for the deeper bass.

The sound is nothing short of incredible, even if you don't like it loud. Why would you recall these if you don't like it loud? Range control. Both the dynamic range and the frequency range of this speaker are so substantial and controlled in those ranges, even if you play it mild, you WILL hear every guitar fret on Steely Dan, every breath noise of Bonnie Raitt, and every subsonic impact from the London Symphony Orchestra bass drum. No detail is lost.

People who should discover at this speaker are:

live bands- This speaker has an incredibly flat response curve for what it is and won't color your band's amplified sounds. Despite its size, its not unwieldy to handle. Two smaller ladies could mild travel it easily with the handles on the side, and most guys can probably occupy it to a minivan themselves. Station it on a flat dolly and it will fit thru most doors easily. The wide waveguide on the tweeter also spreads the sound out very well.

DJs and gig pros- This speaker is ridiculously efficient and orderly. Even if you don't have the greatest amps in the world, or don't even have a sub yet, this thing will rob however many watts you DO have and manufacture it sound superior. Impartial construct positive your amp is 4ohm stable. If you do have power, this thing will definitely handle whatever you can unleash upon it. (This speaker however has no mounting or flying points of its possess, so even though it would do well in trusses from a sound POV, its not equipped for such work.)

Home audio enthusiast- If you're a 2 channel stereo purist, or some college kid who needs it loud, these are your monolith. If you have a 2nd tier home receiver that is 4 ohm stable (such as Onkyo, HK, Denon, etc) you can collect astounding imaging and quality from these speakers.

--------update----------

I loaned these out to someone(ugh) who clearly didn't know what they were doing and overdrove a dinky amplifier while using them. Its always more uncertain to underpower speakers when trying to play loud instead of overpowering them. The reason for this is when an underpowered amp tries to play too loud, it sends a 'clipped signal' instead of the music.

When I got them encourage, the tweeter on one side wasnt working. When I took it apart, the tweeter was exquisite, and the safety fuse light bulb ($5) on the cross-over had blown and protected the tweeter ($45) . Recent bulb, reassemble, and it was encourage to banging with my 500-watt Crown amplifier with no problems.

I bought these to be old-fashioned in a party room (approx 40 x 30 ft), and I am very elated with their sound. The bass is shipshape and punchy, and the high slay is distinct. This is the first time I have bought Cerwin Vega and I purchased solely on their reputation. I was not disappointed!

I am very tickled with these speakers and the tag that I paid for them. The delivery was free instead of the exorbitant amount that I could have paid.

Thanks,

Paula

I bustle my games on my PS3 at 1080p on this cover it works substantial I couldn't hold it supported it. It doesn't mention it in the specs at all. unprejudiced an FYi. I deem it could utilize more HDMI ports but oh well.

AskACapperDOTcom

p.s. scrutinize the auto off feature, I idea is was a flaky unit. Seem to arrive with 2 hour auto off turned on.

like the title says, it's a tremendous comely monitor for my computer. portray is broad, especially in the bedroom combined with my wireless mouse and keyboard. I can easily lie in bed and play games! Incredible!!
