BOSCH Scores again! What a titanic "slight" router. For the few extra bucks I purchased the kit that included the additional bases and accessories. It's limited, lightweight, comfortable and easy to consume with one hand. But don't let its itsy-bitsy size and 1 HP rating discourage you, I feel it has plenty of power to do most hand held routing tasks. As we know, manufacturers HP ratings are often overstated and simply not possible to net. (HP = (Amperage x Voltage x Motor Efficiency) / 746. Hinge mortising, round-overs, edging and of course laminate trimming and seaming are distinguished easier with this puny router than its larger cousins. Definitely several steps up from my Porter Cable laminate trimmer, but obviously not as grand as my BOSCH 1617. Both the shameful and radiant adjustments are unruffled and honest. The soft originate feature and variable race control are a dependable plus. The collet lock button is a tiny miniature (but I screech it has to be) and takes some getting dilapidated to operate. All in all, this is the router that I'll be reaching for most often.
ANSWER: You bet I do! Especially this nice small router. This has been a joy to work with. It fits the bill when I don't have to dig out the expansive guys. Limited routers really have a residence special residence in my woodworking.
All the reviews were tall on this Bosch Colt and I wasn't dissaointed.
I have passe this router now for about 4 months. I was a minute sceptical on spending the money for this kit since there are cheaper kits available. I was also a bit concerned about spending the money for this since my only purpose was to do some laminate trimming but I didn't want to expend my noteworthy larger router for the pretty work. Well, I have not been disappointed with this machine and its attachments.
The first thing I noticed upon turning it on is the soft starting. I have never had a allotment of equipment with this ability. I does not twist your arm or wrist when starting like a lot of other routers. I do not know if it is worth spending extra money if offered separately but it is clear nice when the joints are a microscopic sore. Its size is a sure plus when doing the sparkling laminate trimming and cutting out hinge recesses, etc - it does fit in the palm of my hand and I am able to do most things with holding the router in one hand and holding the working item with the other hand. It also variable race settings but I have not extinct these yet.
The router rotten has some recesses that are nice to location one's thumb in when needing to stabilize the router when cutting corners or angles, etc. The foul does glean warm after using it awhile but not hot. The regular imperfect has a titanic opening so one can observe from the top side of how the cutting bit is behaving with the working material. The accessory bases are very nice to have available. They can be exchanged very easily with unbiased involving the lever to the commence space on each heinous and then aligning the arrows on the wicked and router. One of the bases' levers was too tight from the factory but that was easily fixed with impartial loosening the lever one turn. I have found the angled evil and the conclude quarters (offset) obnoxious are gigantic to have when cutting angles and tight spots. The cessation quarter nefarious probably gets the cutting bit within 3/4 to one mosey from a wall or similar type of blocking item. This noxious utilizes a itsy-bitsy, strong belt (similar to the newer vacuum cleaner kevlar belts) to catch its offset ability.
I have not dilapidated the undercutting guide yet. I must have read the manual over 5 times in that share before I finally understood how to exhaust it. Basically, this guide is stale for cutting a fraction of laminate or wood when replacing or fixing a countertop, table top, flooring, or similar type of item. It uses the edge of the ample part of wood/laminate as a guide for cutting the novel section of wood/laminate so it will have a nice tight fit with minimal amount of a joint type of appearance. I know this will advance in handy some day for that one modern project.
I am extremely satisfied with this router. Changing bits and bases is extremely easy almost fun. I probably wouldn't catch this router without the extra bases since they obtain it secure its location in my tool cabinet.
